Powder Union
Snow reports used to be free. We think they still should be. No paywall, no ads, no “pro” tier, no pop-ups, no cookie banner. Just the number, where it came from, and when.
Every resort, one board
652 ski areas across Europe with 24-hour, 7-day, 10-day and season-to-date snow, plus percent of normal.
Open data, labelled honestly
Modelled numbers say they're modelled. Measured snow depth says which station it came from.
Free and open
No account, no tracking. Missing a resort or spotted a wrong elevation? Tell us and we'll fix it.
How to read the numbers
- Last 24h
- New snow in the last 24 hours, modelled at the resort's upper mountain.
- Last 7d
- New snow over the last 7 days (168 hours).
- Next 10d
- Forecast snowfall for the next 10 days. Days 6–10 are much less certain than days 1–5.
- Season
- Season-to-date snowfall since 1 October, rebuilt daily. It is the sum of snowfall, not the depth of the snowpack.
- % of normal
- Season to date vs the average for the same date over 9 seasons (2017–18 to 2025–26), from the same model. Shown as “pre-season” until the average has reached 25 cm, because 3 cm vs 1 cm is not news.
- vs LY
- Season to date vs the same date last season.
- Snow depth (observed)
- Measured snowpack at the nearest SLF IMIS station (Swiss Alps only for now), with its elevation and distance.
Why modelled? Unlike the US with its SNOTEL network, Europe has no open, continent-wide feed of resort snowfall. National services publish some station data, but formats and licences differ country by country. A consistent model at every resort, plus real measurements where we can get them, beats a patchwork. Models smooth out mountains, so treat the numbers as a guide and compare resorts rather than trusting any single figure to the centimetre.

- European avalanche warning services (EAWS)
Every resort page links to the official avalanche bulletin for its country. We don't republish avalanche danger levels.
Not for avalanche or off-piste safety decisions. Always read the local avalanche bulletin (EAWS) and follow the resort's closures.
